My First Cult Beauty Haul

Besides Sephora, Cult Beauty is one of my most stalked beauty sites. They carry a lot of products that Sephora doesn’t by brands that Sephora has yet to add to their collection (Think Charlotte Tilbury, Nuxe, Zoeva, etc.). They also carry a lot of brands that aren’t as easy to come by in the United States (Think Embryolisse Laboratories and Nuxe). One of the main reasons I love Cult Beauty though? Because their prices on these brands are often cheaper  than I can find them in the USA. Even with the dollar doing not so well compared to the pound, the savings add up. There’s also the VAT discount you get if you aren’t an EU customer. Cha-Ching! Despite following Cult Beauty for so long, this was my first time ordering from them. I was waiting for their 20% off sale, which oddly enough seemed to coincide with Sephora’s spring sale.

As you can see, my order came in wrapped in black tissue paper and was in one of those “boxes” that are usually used for books (kind weird, but whatever).

Everything was either bubble-wrapped or boxed and securely tapped down. Nothing leaked! Amazing!

I went for mostly skincare/body products, but did get a couple of Charlotte Tilbury makeup bits I’ve been wanting to try.

I was recently watching a Pixiwoo video and Nicola recommended this Ameliorate lotion for getting rid of Keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) which I and my husband have on our arms. The second ingredient is lactic acid, so I think it just might work! I don’t tan easily. Probably because I don’t go outside that much! But I mean, really sunbathing isn’t that great for you. I’ve heard about Tan-Luxe before, and though I wanted to get the lotion version, (they were sold out) I figured I’d give this a try. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse body oil is a repurchase for me. I love this stuff! Not too shimmery, and the smell is so nice.

I’ve wanted to try the Pixi Glow Tonic for so long. Although Target carries it, they kinda overcharge for it in my opinion. This is a glycolic acid toner, so I hope its gentle enough for everyday use. The Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse is a cult product in its own right. And while I don’t need another balmy type cleanser, I want to see what all the fuss is about (plus it was on sale!). The Lait-Creme Concentre needs no introduction. Used by makeup artists for years, this is an effective, simple formula cream that is really good for dry skin. I ran out months ago and have been missing it! This Caudalie moisturizing mask is another wish-list item. Sephora carries it, but charges at least $10 more that Cult Beauty. I used it last night and it felt really nice.

I love and good bath oil/soak. Dry skin is something I struggle with and sometimes an oil bath is just what I need. This one by Magic Organic Apothecary is suppose to help tired muscles and be aromatheraputic. I tried it out last night and it left my skin feeling soft, but not too oily. It also felt soothing, I’m guessing because of the peppermint oil.

The Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand and Matte Revolution Lipstick (Sexy Sienna) are also long wished for items. I’ve already tried them out and really love the glow the light wand gives. Its the perfect highlight if you’re not into blinding people from a mile away, but still want something noticeable. The matte lipstick is a nice color, but so far the formula is a bit odd. Its not as matte and the name makes you think. In fact its very creamy. You also need to exfoliate your lips very well before application. This lipstick clings to every dry bit of lip skin.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts?
