Minimal Style: OOTD with Pops of Color

I’ll let you in on a little secret: I don’t always plan my ootd posts. Sometimes, they just happen. Like last weekend. I was wearing a pair of black jeans and a white t shirt. Nothing special. But then we needed to go to the grocery store *moan.* I threw on a blazer (because its not exactly coat weather, but grocery stores are cold!) and my pair of Aquazzara heels and BOOM. Unexpected minimal style ootd. I looked at myself in the mirror and was like “Oh, this is going to be an OOTD post for sure.”

White linen blazer, black jeans, white v-neck t-shirt, rose-gold mule heels. Minimal OOTD, but with an edge.

Blazer

This blazer is from Ann Taylor. I got it last spring before our trip to England. I have a very hard time finding blazers that fit my smallish/slopping shoulders, are wide enough for my tummy, and not too long in the arms. This one fits fairly well, and is perfect for this time of year. Its also machine washable! The shirt is my favorite style from Everlane. Blogged about here.

Jeans + Shoes

These black jeans are a recent purchase from Topshop. They are the Jamie jeans. And I LOVE them. They are so comfy, and thick enough that they don’t show off my cellulite. They are high-waisted and a little longer than ankle length on me (I’m 5’3).

And here’s one of the pops of color: my Aquazzura rose-gold mules. They’re easy to walk in and go perfectly with this minimal style outfit.

And the other pop of color (albeit a tiny one): red nail polish. I’m also totting my Senreve mini maestra, reviewed here.

How about you? Ever unintentionally put together an outfit and think “Dang, I look good!”?
