Fall Favorites!

Its that time again! Time for a seasonal favorites post! And since today is the Winter Solstice, the official end of fall, I’d like to share my fall fashion/beauty/read and eat favorites.

These past few months, with the weather turning chilly and rainy, I’ve turned to cozier fashion items. What does that mean? Turtlenecks, so many turtlenecks. I’ve added to my turtleneck collection. What can I say? It’s a long sleeved top and scarf all in one. Genius. The one pictured above is navy striped from Madewell.

The next item is my Everlane cashmere mock-neck sweater. I’ve blogged about it already (here), so I won’t bore you be rehashing why I love it. But I do!

The next item is my Asos over-the-knee boots, blogged about here. Nothing new to say, still loving them!

Skincare. My skincare game is more intense during the colder months. Dry skin, and lately, some acne. To keep my lips hydrated, I’ve been using the Fresh Lip Treatment and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I like the Fresh lip balm because it goes on so, so smooth. And a little goes a long way. There’s also a bit of a tint to it, so no need for lipstick. The Laneige Lip mask (which I use all the time, not just at night!) is also great. More intense, and much thicker, this mask protects and hydrates.

I’ve been loving this eye cream by Ole Henriksen. There aren’t any anti-aging ingredients in this eye cream, just intense hydration. I’ve been using this eye cream for four or five months, and my under eyes are looking nice! I blogged about this mask by Sunday Riley before (here), so all I’ll say is that it’s still working, and I’m still loving it (even though it smells!).

I’m a big proponent of body care; its not all about your face! I’ve been using the Sleepy lotion by Lush every night. It smells a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Lavendery, a little musk, and vanilla. And it is thick! I use it on my feet mostly as it is a little to thick for my arms and legs. The Neutrogena HydroBoost gel cream is a repurchase; I like it that much. I first tried this in London, and was so happy when I found it stocked (finally) in my local Walmart. This hand cream smells great and hydrates and softens my hands.

Only one makeup favorite this season. I’ve been trying not to buy more makeup until I use up what I have. This Backlight primer by Becca is a repurchase, so you know I like it! This primer gives my face the most wonderful glow. Even with foundation on top, the glowiness of this primer shows through. I’ve even received compliments on how nice my skin looks when I wear this!

You may not know this, but I read constantly. Blame it on the MA in literature! I got Footfall by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle (their colab novels are the best!) when we went to Powell’s in Portland (read about that trip here). Its a first contact story. Aliens come to Earth with the purpose of making all the humans submit to their authority. Sounds pretty basic, but it is much more than that! So fast-paced and interesting. Can’t recommend enough! And what is a good book without a good cup o’ tea? This Earl Grey from Fortnum and Mason’s Famous Teas range is the best earl grey I’ve ever had. We got it when we were in London, and it just ran out! So sad! Need to order more for sure.
