    Beauty Products I Repurchase

The true test of a beauty product? Do you repurchase. Is the product that good that you just can’t live without it? Does it do something that the other products you have don’t do? Or does it just do the job better? Is it a better price, or does a little go a long ways? There are the questions I think of when repurchasing beauty products. The products that I’m sharing today answer one or some of these questions in one way or another. Bodycare This bath “potion” (really a oil) by MOA is great. It is pepperminty and has a hefty amount of fennel in it. When my muscles…

    My Current Morning Skincare Routine

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m a skincare junkie. I love trying new products, seeing what works for my skin, and what doesn’t. My current morning skincare routine is a mixture of tried and true anti-acne and hydration products. Cleanse Around Christmastime my skin had a bit of a freak-out. Probably all the rich food. Since then I’ve been using the It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser, the Ole Henriksen Balance Force Oil Control Toner, and Radha tea tree oil as a part of my morning skincare routine. These products combined have helped my skin settle down. The It Cosmetics cleanser gives more a…

    Algenist: My First VoxBox

About a month ago, I got a wonderful email. An email from Influenster telling me I had been selected for the Algenist Genius Sleeping Collegan Cream campaign! I was so excited. I had filled out the survey influenster sends users when a new campaign is set, but wasn’t getting my hopes up. A few weeks before I had filled out a hair related survey before and not been selected. So when I got the “You’re In” email I started stalking my front porch hardcore. In about a week, my VoxBox arrived. For this particular campaign, the VoxBox included the collegan serum which I had used before and enjoyed. This serum…

Winter Skin and How I Deal With It

If you have dry skin, you get it. Heck, if you have combo skin, you experience it. Winter skin. Dullness, dryness, texture. Cold temperatures and dryer air- they do a number on my skin. Summer? Forget about it. Sure my skin is oilier, but a good acne cream and a couple of clarifying masks a week keep things in line. But once October/November rolls around I have to pay more attention to my skincare regime. These are some of the products I use to combat winter skin. Dullness: My skin can look at little blah this time of year. I rotate between chemical exfoliators (Pixi Glow Tonic, Aveeno 60 second…

End of the Matte Liquid Lipstick Trend?

Ah, makeup trends. They come and go, don’t they? From loads of blue eyeshadow in the 80s to the pencil thin eyebrows of the 90s (also a trend in the 30s), there are so many trends we look back on and shake our heads at. Lately I’ve been wondering if matte liquid lipstick will be one of these. Matte liquid lipstick exploded onto the makeup scene several years ago. It seems like every makeup brand had their own line of liquid lipsticks. Some are better then others, but all work on the same basic principle of a dry matte color that stays on. I, like so many other makeup lovers…

My Favorite Skincare Obsession: Face Masks

When it comes to face masks, I really just can’t help myself. Its my favorite skincare item, and the thing I always want to treat myself to. There are face masks for every occasion. Dry skin, too much skin texture, acne, clogged pores, and even dull skin; there’s a mask for that! Currently I have several masks on rotation. They are primarily clarifying, hydrating, and exfoliating masks. Clarifying Even though I have dry skin, at least once a week I need a good clarifying mask session. Especially in the summer. Sunscreen really does a number on my pores and skin texture. When I need a good pore clean-out, these are…

Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale: Wish List!

Until last Friday I had no idea Sephora would be doing this sale. I know, and longingly wait for, the sales in April and November, but an extra sale?! Yes! Just an end-of-summer treat for all us beauty lovers! So here’s my wish list: Makeup (From left to right) I have been wearing eyeliner a lot more recently. Its a look quicker to apply than eyeshadow! But the eyeliners I have are either liquid, or dried out. This Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eyeliner is so smooth and easy to use. In fact, I already bought it! I got mine in the color whiskey which is a warm brown. I’ve wanted…

    My Current Nighttime Skincare Routine

My skincare routine is constantly evolving. And it should, really. Skin changes. We age, the seasons change, hormone levels fluctuate, skin changes. Currently I’m having some minor acne, but other than that my skin has been its normal combo self (dry cheeks, oily T-zone) with some fine lines. My nighttime skincare routine is a bit more involved than the daytime. I like to take a bath before bed and I almost always use a mask of some sort in addition to the cleansing and moisturizing aspects of my skincare. Currently my skincare has looked something like this: Cleanse I love the Clinque Take the Day Off cleansing balm. It’s so…

    My Eyeshadow Pallet Collection

When it comes to eyeshadow pallets I have to be very strict with myself. There’s just something about all the colors, and shimmer in a pallet that makes the five year old in me who wants to cover the world in glitter very happy. If I let that part of myself have free reign I’d have enough pallets to fill a closet. As it stands, I can still fit all my pallets into ONE vanity drawer! Look at all the colors! Metallics, shimmers, and mattes; there’s enough here for so many looks. The Tart Tartlette In Bloom pallet. My first ever. Its a basic, warm toned pallet that I would…

    Summer Favorites

Are you ready for it? A new type of post that I hope to make a seasonal and/or monthly feature on the blog: my favorites! There are just some of the things I’ve been enjoying so far this summer. Fashion: I’ve done several fashion posts lately. (Here and here) And while a lot of those pieces have quickly become favorites, the two items pictured have been on repeat big time. The white T shirt is from Everlane. It is the perfect t shirt. Great cut and very soft cotton fabric. It holds up so well in the washer and dryer. I’ve worn it so much that the cost per wear…
