Beauty Products I Wish I’d Had as a Teenager

Its amazing how much beauty products have changed since I was a teenager. The drugstore has upped its game big time, and the shear number of brands and product offerings have increased drastically.

I was also a bit oblivious to skincare and makeup in general until my twenties, so there’s that, lol. Today I thought I’d share some of the products I really wish I’d had when I was a teenager.

My main skin concerns back then were acne and redness. While I didn’t have the cystic acne I do as an adult, like any teenager, I got pimples. Oh, how I wish I’d had the Origins Spot Treatment and the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. These products help me control my acne now, and boy would they have given me a confidence boost back then. I also struggled with redness as a teenager. I was that person whose face instantly got red when embarrassed, anxious, nervous, surprised, etc. The Cicapair color Correcting Treatment by Dr. Jart would have been a boon to me. I would have been more confident knowing my emotions weren’t showing up on my face.

Now granted, I wasn’t really into makeup as a teenager. But there were a few things I could have used for sure. One is this clear eyebrow gel. My eyebrow hairs have always been long and unruly. Getting them to stay in place is a challenge. I remember constantly brushing them back into place in high school. Oh how I would have loved this gel! It holds so well. And can we talk about lip gloss? Lip gloss has come such a long way since high school. I remember this tube of lip gloss I had from Victoria Secret. It was, hands down, the stickiest thing I’ve ever used. My lips felt glued together whenever I applied it. And getting it on my hands was the worst. If only I’d had this Dior or  Sephora lip gloss! Finally, concealer. What teenager hasn’t wanted to cover up a pimple, blemish, or dark circles from pulling an all-nighter?

I’ve always been a minimalist when it comes to hair care. High school was no exception. I’ve learned a few things since then, like not washing my hair everyday. Washing my hair everyday = super dry hair. But even though I’ve learned to ease up on the washing, I still have dry hair sometimes. I use this oil serum by Shea Moisture when my hair needs a hydration boost. It would have been so nice to have this in high school! And it smells awesome.

How about you? What products do you wish you’d discovered sooner?
