Beauty Products I Repurchase

The true test of a beauty product? Do you repurchase. Is the product that good that you just can’t live without it? Does it do something that the other products you have don’t do? Or does it just do the job better? Is it a better price, or does a little go a long ways?

There are the questions I think of when repurchasing beauty products. The products that I’m sharing today answer one or some of these questions in one way or another.

This bath “potion” (really a oil) by MOA is great. It is pepperminty and has a hefty amount of fennel in it. When my muscles are sore, or when I’m feeling under the weather, a bath with this stuff really gives me a boost. The Posthelios (after-sun) cream by La Roche-Posay is kind of a miracle product for me. Being fair-skinned, I burn pretty easy. And then the burn peels, and really hurts. But this cream helps with that. I’ve never really peeled after using this cream. It is so thick, rich, and restorative. My husband swears by it too. We take this will us on all our summer trips, or trips to the tropics! I’ve talked about the Neutrogena hand cream before, so I won’t say too much other than its 1. effective 2. good price 3. smells great.

Cleanse and Tone

I try out a lot of cleansers and toners. But I keep coming back to The Clinique Take the Day Off balm, the Lush Angels on Bare Skin, the Pixi Glow Tonic, and the Spot treatment by Origins. None of these products are exactly cheap, ranging from $15-30, but they are soooo good. For makeup removal, I’ve yet to find something better than the Clinique balm. Mascara and eyeliner come off in a flash. The Lush cleanser is gentle (yay! for sensitive skin) and last forever. The Pixi toner is a cult product for very good reason. It gently tones AND exfoliates. And the Origins Spot treatment actually reduces acne spots without turning my face into the Sahara.

More than any category, moisturizers are something I repurchase the same of a lot. While I do try out new ones, my skin, being the finicky turd that it is, often needs the ‘tried and true.’

The La Roche Posay and the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair cream are two of my holy grail products. The Effaclar cream keeps my skin in line (acne-wise) and the repair cream is so gentle and soothing. Its something I turn to again and again when my skin needs TLC. The hylaronic serum by The Ordinary is another holy grail for me. I think I’ve repurchased this four times! It plumps my skin like no other, and you can’t beat the price.

Lait Creme Concentre by Embryolisse is rich. And creamy. And totally hydrating. I like putting a little of this under my eyes when they’re looking dehydrated. And snap! They’re back. Wonder cream. I’m on my second jar of the Ole Henriksen banana eye cream. This was the eye cream that actually convinced me that eye creams are important. Before that I didn’t even use eye cream. The horror!

And finally, my lip product repurchases. The Rosebud salve. I read once that Beyonce uses this. So, ya know its good. And it is! This is my second (or third?) jar. It lasts a long time, and is only $6! The Nuxe Reve de Miel is totally different from any other lip product I’ve ever tried. It is so, so thick. For me, its a little less hydrating, but more of a protectant product. The formula is so thick it doesn’t rub off easily, and provides a nice barrier between my lips and, well whatever!

Definitely a smaller category for me. I don’t find myself running out of makeup products often. But these two I do. And they’re both brow products. I’ve repurchased The Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Pencil and the NYX Clear Brow Gel several times. The brow pencil’s formula is nice a smooth and the brow gel keeps even my unruly brow hairs in place all day long. What can I say? I like a strong brow game.
