Fall Trends I’m Loving and One’s I’m not

I’m more of a fall/cold weather dresser than a summer one. Part of this is due to the fact that where I live doesn’t have a long summer. The other part is that I just prefer fall fashions. All the layering, textured fabrics, knits, and jewel tones are right up my alley. I love this time of year because all the fall fashions are just hitting stores and I get to start planning what pieces to add to my fall wardrobe. So today I thought I’d go over some of the fall trends I’m liking and some I’m not liking so much. Like Tweed I love me some tweed. It’s…

Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale: Wish List!

Until last Friday I had no idea Sephora would be doing this sale. I know, and longingly wait for, the sales in April and November, but an extra sale?! Yes! Just an end-of-summer treat for all us beauty lovers! So here’s my wish list: Makeup (From left to right) I have been wearing eyeliner a lot more recently. Its a look quicker to apply than eyeshadow! But the eyeliners I have are either liquid, or dried out. This Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eyeliner is so smooth and easy to use. In fact, I already bought it! I got mine in the color whiskey which is a warm brown. I’ve wanted…

    My Current Nighttime Skincare Routine

My skincare routine is constantly evolving. And it should, really. Skin changes. We age, the seasons change, hormone levels fluctuate, skin changes. Currently I’m having some minor acne, but other than that my skin has been its normal combo self (dry cheeks, oily T-zone) with some fine lines. My nighttime skincare routine is a bit more involved than the daytime. I like to take a bath before bed and I almost always use a mask of some sort in addition to the cleansing and moisturizing aspects of my skincare. Currently my skincare has looked something like this: Cleanse I love the Clinque Take the Day Off cleansing balm. It’s so…

    My Eyeshadow Pallet Collection

When it comes to eyeshadow pallets I have to be very strict with myself. There’s just something about all the colors, and shimmer in a pallet that makes the five year old in me who wants to cover the world in glitter very happy. If I let that part of myself have free reign I’d have enough pallets to fill a closet. As it stands, I can still fit all my pallets into ONE vanity drawer! Look at all the colors! Metallics, shimmers, and mattes; there’s enough here for so many looks. The Tart Tartlette In Bloom pallet. My first ever. Its a basic, warm toned pallet that I would…

Cross Stitch, Simple and Oh-So Satisfying

Until a couple of months ago I’d never tried cross stitch. Considering how popular cross stitching is that’s kind of weird. I guess I was just put off by the fact that cross stitch is largely decorative. Unlike thread painting, or free hand embroidery, cross stitch is a counted type of embroidery. This means that to achieve whatever picture/design you’re going for, you have to use a thicker, coarser fabric. Not something you’d want for a blanket, or apparel. But since we bought our first house last year after living in tiny apartments for 8 years, we have very few decorations/wall art. I thought why not a cross stitched picture?…

    Summer Favorites

Are you ready for it? A new type of post that I hope to make a seasonal and/or monthly feature on the blog: my favorites! There are just some of the things I’ve been enjoying so far this summer. Fashion: I’ve done several fashion posts lately. (Here and here) And while a lot of those pieces have quickly become favorites, the two items pictured have been on repeat big time. The white T shirt is from Everlane. It is the perfect t shirt. Great cut and very soft cotton fabric. It holds up so well in the washer and dryer. I’ve worn it so much that the cost per wear…

Summer Fashion: How I Beat the Heat

Like a lot of the world, we’ve been experiencing a heatwave in the PNW for the last month. I know, I know, its summer it suppose to be hot. But this part of world doesn’t normally get this hot, and a lot of people’s homes don’t have air conditioning. So when it’s hot, its hot. So today I thought I’d share some of my go-to outfits/pieces I wear when the weather makes me want to melt like the wicked witch of the west. Dresses/Breathable Fabrics I recently featured this dress in my London shopping haul here. What I like about this dress is that its a cotton knit. Its a…
