    My Travel Makeup Bag

So I’m a bit of a makeup hoarder. Nothing too serious, but when it comes to traveling I really have to force myself to pare it down. Especially with the lipstick! We’re off to England next week, (lots of travel posts coming in June!) so I’ve tracked down my travel makeup bag and started sorting what I’ll bring. This is what I have so far. Maybe a little much, but baby steps, baby steps! It actually all fits in this bag I got from an Estee Lauder gift-with-purchase deal. The Face Products. The First Aid Beauty Coconut Primer is a good all-around primer. Sticky enough to keep my makeup on,…

    Spring Look: Floral and Loafers

The weather has finally warmed up here in the Pacific Northwest. With temps in the 70s and several days without rain, it actually looks and feels like spring! When the weather is so pleasant like it has been, I sometimes get a craving to wear a floaty dress, something I can feel flapping around my legs in the breeze. Don’t get me wrong, I like to wear dresses in the winter too (with thick, black tights!) So last Saturday I donned this little floral number I recently picked up at H&M. (picture look familiar? I shot this on the same day I shot the picture for my Senreve review) I…

    Bag Review: Senreve Mini Maestra

The Hunt About six months ago I started the hunt. The hunt for a new bag. I needed to replace my then current bag, a Coach vintage design blogged here, because the finish on the cross body strap had started to rub off. I lost several white blouses to that defect. What I knew is I wanted a bag in black leather with gold hardware, (my favorite combo) and somewhere in the mid-level price range. I looked at soooo many bags, stalking Neta-Porter, Nordstrom, and all the fashion-forward sites like modaoperadi and mytheresa. Then one day I was watching a Chase Amie video in which she showed her new Senreve…

    My Collection of Bunion-Friendly Shoes

So a bit of a niche post today. If you’ve ever worn pointy toe shoes for a length of time, or are genetically predisposed to them, chances are you’ve dealt with bunions. I know I have and do. A bunion on the big toe, which is what I have, is simply a bony bump on the base joint. I’ve had it for several years, and it flares up from time to time. So the question is, when you love fashion what shoes can you wear without looking orthopedic? This is my collection of bunion-friendly shoes. As you can see, there’s a mix of tennis shoes, loafers, sandlas, flats, and boots.…

    The Nudies, Lipstick that is

Ah, nude lipstick. Its pretty, easy, safe, and let’s not forget, pretty! The lipstick you can color outside the lines with, the shade range that will never let you down. It comes in a bazillion different colors and the definition of “nude” is rather broad. There are  pinky, brown, purple, peachy, and coral nudes. There are matte, satin, glossy, and shimmery nudes. Everyone’s perfect nude is different. Mine is more on the pink side since my lips are pinkish. But I also enjoy coral and peachy nudes. This is my collection: Nars, Smashbox, NYX, Estee Lauder, Colourpop, YSL, Lancome, and Hourglass. I may have a problem (because these are just…

    My First Cult Beauty Haul

Besides Sephora, Cult Beauty is one of my most stalked beauty sites. They carry a lot of products that Sephora doesn’t by brands that Sephora has yet to add to their collection (Think Charlotte Tilbury, Nuxe, Zoeva, etc.). They also carry a lot of brands that aren’t as easy to come by in the United States (Think Embryolisse Laboratories and Nuxe). One of the main reasons I love Cult Beauty though? Because their prices on these brands are often cheaper  than I can find them in the USA. Even with the dollar doing not so well compared to the pound, the savings add up. There’s also the VAT discount you…
